A thanks to the /r/SLP community: I asked for beta testers for a new language acquisition app a few months ago and lots of you helped out. An hour ago we were featured in the top slot in the "best new apps" category on iOS! Never saw I'd see an SLP app on that front page! Thanks so much for the help
JP players can bind via binding code or Twitter account; EN players can bind via Twitter account, Facebook account or Yostar account. These options are in Settings.
Use at least one account bind option; use multiple if you want to be safe. If your device is lost, damaged, or a game update breaks the app and forces you to reinstall you could permanently lose your account. EN accounts are easiest to recover with an account bind; make sure to bind your account in the settings and only use the login screen binding buttons to reconnect your account. Using the login screen buttons without a bound account will create a new account for you and effectively erase your progress with no way of recovering it outside of contacting customer support. JUST DO IT. NOTE: It's also a good idea to remember your server and take a screenshot of your resume so that customer support has an easier time recovering your account. Frequently Asked Questions Should I reroll? How do I do it? No. There are a few reasons for this:
Names cannot be reused.
Ships are constructed with non-premium currency that you can easily get through gameplay.
SSR ships are NOT required for progression.
High value ships are often stage drops and cannot be built.
Is X ship good? Take a look at this gallery that shows good, permanently available ships or this tier list for a general indication of any ship's power. For research ships there's also a list showing off how useful they are depending on their development level. All ships are usable with proper development; just know that some ships/compositions are far less viable in later Worlds. Should I be spamming Construction or saving cubes? Saving cubes is crucial as you'll want a large stockpile of them to attempt limited constructions that appear during events. Outside of events, spend 1 cube per day (4 on Sunday) to satisfy the daily build mission; in doing so you'll complete the weekly mission which gives 6 cubes. However, players starting out should spam construction for the first 2 or 3 days in order to expand their options for fleet setups. Should I keep duplicate ships?
Duplicates of ships you use: Keep for limit breaking and retrofitting.
Duplicates of ships you don't use, Rare or higher: Retire for Medals of Honor (in Build menu).
Duplicates of ships you don't use, Normal rarity: Consume for enhancement of used ships.
I'm struggling on X stage, what should I do?
Level up and limit break your ships; Level advantage makes a difference.
Check your equipment; equip Purple/Gold/Rainbow rarity equipment and upgrade it.
Adjust your fleet setup; you may need a tanky frontliner to soak more damage or a battleship in the backline to deal more damage.
Enhance your ship's stats with common rarity ships.
How should I set up my fleet?
Main Fleet (Backline)
Aircraft Carriers (CV, CVL) - Clears the screen of enemy projectiles and weaker ships; Airspace Control Value (ACV) improves damage dealt by your carriers and reduces hostile encounters.
Destroyers (DD) - Cheap; low gun damage with high-damage torpedoes; high evasion with poor armor and HP; speeds up your fleet and helps avoid ambushes.
Light Cruisers (CL) - Balanced stats with high anti-air capability.
Heavy Cruisers (CA, CB) - Expensive; high damage and/or large HP pool; some utility.
For the frontline position put your tankiest ship on the left and second tankiest on the right; for the backline try to have your strongest ship in the middle (flagship) position; battleships with a barrage skill should be in the center because it greatly improves their aim. Make sure that your support (yellow) skills are useful to the rest of the fleet; most only affect certain class, nationality or weapon types and often don’t stack. While at the beginning it doesn't matter - in fact you'd be better off using both of your fleets equally to level them up - your two fleets should eventually be split up into a mob-killer fleet and boss-killer fleet; the mob-killer fleet sacrifices firepower for sustain so use (self-)healing ships to survive the 4-7 fights needed to summon the boss for the boss-killer fleet. When should I Limit Break? This depends on your playstyle; Limit Breaking increases a ship's stats and capabilities at the price of increased Oil costs. Therefore:
If you lean towards casual play and don't sortie much, Limit Break as soon as possible.
If you lean towards hardcore play and sortie frequently, Limit Break only if you are struggling to progress.
These guidelines only apply to your main use fleets; farming fleets will have a different approach as explained in the next question. NOTE: Regardless of your playstyle, Limit Break when your ships are approaching level cap (70/80/90) to avoid losing XP. What are good fleets to use for farming? Farming fleets are designed to clear stages with as little fuel use as possible. Therefore:
Use fewer ships. The minimum is one backline and one frontline ship (1:1). Over-level your ships as level difference matters.
Use ships with no/few limit breaks since LBs increase oil costs.
Use upgraded equipment and level up skills.
Complete the stage several times with stronger fleets to lower its threat level.
Use ships of lower rarity since they're cheaper: Common (gray) > Rare (blue) > Elite (purple) > Super Rare (gold)
Use cheaper ship types. For the frontline: Destroyers (DD) > Light Cruisers (CL) > Heavy Cruisers (CA, CB). For the backline: Monitors (BM) > Battlecruisers (BC) > Battleships (BB) and Light Carriers (CVL) > standard Carriers (CV)
Popular vanguard ships: Phoenix, Leander, Cassin, Downes, Fletcher DDs Popular main fleet ships: Erebus, Terror, Nelson, Rodney, Tirpitz, Duke of York, Yorktown For high-level farming add healers (Akashi, Vestal, Unicorn, Shouhou, Ryuuhou, Arizona) and a strong boss-killer fleet. When farming for gear blueprints/ships/event points, is it better to full clear a stage or just clear enough mobs until the boss spawns? Except when getting the third star on a map, you should always go for the boss as soon as it spawns. Only the boss fleet and event elites can drop SR gear blueprints, and the boss has a chance to drop two. Only boss fleets can drop SR ships/boss-only ships, and clearing the boss fleet with an S-rank guarantees a ship drop. Killing the boss fleet is what gives points (specialized cores, core data, event points, etc.); the amount of points is bound to the map, not to the amount of mobs killed. What should I be equipping? You can try following these guides. Otherwise, use what you have. How do I get more Oil? Oil in Azur Lane is equivalent to stamina in most mobile games; your Canteen generates Oil and you can get more from mission/commission rewards. If you run dry consider running less ships in your fleets, running ships with lower rarity/fewer limit breaks and taking a break. How do I get Coins? Aside from generation via the Merchant, large coin drops come from Daily Raids and the 8-10 hour commission (costs 800+ fuel). A popular method is farming map 7-2 until all the "?" nodes appear, collecting the nodes and retreating. What should I spend Gems on? Priority list:
Dorm slots (max 5)
Dock capacity
2nd Floor Upgrade for Dorm
Promise Rings
Skins
3rd Tactical Classroom slot (depends on your needs)
Spending Gems on anything not listed here isn't recommended (ESPECIALLY Oil/Gold). However, it's mostly personal preference. What should I spend Medals of Honor on? Buy the featured SSR if you want heneed a duplicate for limit breaking. Otherwise, solid purchases are gold and purple Bulins (if needed), T3 Skillbooks, T2 Retrofit Blueprints (T3 if needed), PR Blueprints and Dorm food; anything else isn't recommended though your needs may vary. What are Retrofit Blueprints? How do I use them? Retrofit Blueprints are used in retrofitting and consumed in the Retrofit tree found in ship details. Note that not all ships have a retrofit. It's recommended to save your blueprints and only retrofit ships you plan on using as higher tier blueprints can be hard to come by. What is the best use of Core Data? You'll want several Oxytorps and Black/White shells, the F4U Corsairs) are currently the best fighters in the game. Other useful items include Fairey Swordfish 818) which slow enemies on hit and the Homing Beacon for synchronizing airstrikes. The Seal of the Four Gods, improves Anshan class ships but otherwise is not worth buying. All of the ships currently in the core shop are obtainable through war archives and/or aren't useful to a new player. Why can't I rank up past Captain? For Rear Admiral Lower Half and higher in addition to meeting the rank score requirement you must be high enough on the player leaderboards to rank up. For Rear Admiral Lower Half that means you need to be in the top 1000; all ranks and thresholds can be found here. When is the daily/weekly reset? [EN] Daily reset is at midnight PDT; weekly reset is Sunday at midnight PDT. How to get Akashi? Tap on her 30 times in the shop menu to get started. And you might want to hold on to 10 purple and 5 gold Sakura tech packs. How do I unlock the last few memories in X event? After clearing B3/D3/the last of the non-EX stage of the event, try beating it a few more times. How do I earn Tech Points? Tech Points are gained by obtaining, max limit breaking and max levelling (level 120) ships. You can see how many points each ship will give you in the Lab > Fleet Tech tab. As a rule of thumb big ships such as CVs or BBs will give you more tech points than little ships regardless of rarity. MLBing a ship gives you the largest amount of points out of the 3 step process; PR1 ships requirements are generally easier to meet than PR2/PR3 ships' fleet tech thresholds. How do I earn experience for research ships? PR EXP is only earned through oil-consuming PvE content (& Operation Siren) with the ships specified under the EXP objectives in the Shipyard. PvP matches, Dorm EXP, Lecture EXP and commissions do not count. The EXP goals are rather large; be prepared for a long grind. Ships who are at an EXP/level cap (i.e. 70/80/90/100~120 depending on limit break, cognitive awakening or EXP hard cap) will still contribute EXP to PR EXP objectives, even if it displays +0 EXP in the combat results. What types of researches are best? Here is the list for the best researches for earning PR blueprints. There is also a list for those who are looking to grind gear blueprints specifically. Note that PR ships are an endgame goal; investing cubes and coins into research projects early on will greatly impede your progress with little benefit so free researches are a better option while starting out. What is the drop rate of X? The only known drop rate is for Akagi & Kaga; each have a 0.75% chance to drop after defeating the boss of 3-4. No other drop rates are currently known. Is X getting a rerun? Most major events get a single rerun per region. You can check the Azur Lane Wiki to see if an event has already reran on your server's region. Reruns generally occur at least a year after the event's first debut; after the rerun is concluded ships from that event will slowly come to permanent construction pools. The exception to this rule are collaboration events which - so far - haven't seen any reruns due to licensing deals. How do I get retrofit items for Sandy/Warspite/X? UR retrofit item are acquired through limited-time events. They will have reruns, if you missed them you will have a chance to obtain them in the future. After having a rerun these items are permanently added to the prototype shop. What is the next big event? Is there an event roadmap? There is no known roadmap for any of the regions; big events are usually announced a week or two at most before the event itself is released.

https://steam.cryotank.net/wp-content/gallery/slaythespire/Slay-the-Spire-01-HD.png Slay the Spire (StS) has finally arrived to Android! For two years many of us dreamed for this legendary game to be accessible on their mobile devices, and finally the day has come. No need to talk about how awesome this game is, how it basically started a new genre of card-based dungeon crawlers (UPD: or roguelike deck-builders, if you prefer the term), and even about how well or poor it works on Android hardware in its current state (there will be lots of these posts during the days to come). What I wanted to talk about is the impact this game had on (specifically) mobile industry and how other developers were able to utilize this innovative formula in their own products. Personally, I am somewhat glad that StS release was delayed that much. This allowed a lot of "clones" to be spawned, many of which I enjoyed playing. Some of them appear to be straight rip-offs, but others introduced many fresh ideas of their own, some even surpassing the predecessor's greatness. What the heck am I talking about and how is this even possible will be revealed to you, should you decide to stay on a bit and read through the article below.
General info
First and foremost, let's clarify the important thing: card based dungeon crawlers are not Collectible Card Games (CCGs). Even though they share the same ideas, and some of them (StS included) even have a feature to permanently improve starting cards, or a mode to play with pre-constructed decks, this is not the case for the genre in general. There is no place for multiplayer and PvP battles here: a turn-down for the most, but an undeniable advantage for the rest - only though-out puzzle-like single-player experience which we can pause at any moment and continue when the time is appropriate. Thus, there will never be troubles with downtime, matchmaking, ratings, overpowered builds and other PvP stuff, as there will never be a satisfaction of crushing your opponents with the power of your mighty intellect... The fun of discovering interesting synergies between various card combinations is still present, though. With this being said, let's quickly look through the core features of the genre, which will be relevant for almost every game we review below: - we must explore a dungeon, which (usually, but not necessarily) consists of three floors with increasing difficulty; - we have limited control over the order in which to face the challenges; - there is a powerful boss in the end of each floor; - we battle using deck of cards, usually drawing new cards from deck to hand each turn; - there is a limitation on how many cards we can play during our turn; - we start with a weak basic deck, but get new cards as rewards for fighting enemies; - there is a possibility to permanently remove (weak) cards from the deck; - successful gameplay strategies revolve around utilizing the synergies between different cards; - there are several character classes, each with their own cards and tactics; - there are often additional items to acquire in the dungeon, providing bonuses and emphasizing specific types of play; Before Slay the Spire (StS) came out, there was another card-based dungeon crawler called Dream Quest (DQ), which considered by many to be the first game of the genre (at least the first one to make a significant impact). Not sure if the former drew inspiration from the latter, but certain parallels can easily be drawn: in fact, all of the features mentioned in the list above are valid for DQ the same way as it is for StS. The rich plethora of card based dungeon crawlers (both PC/Console and mobile) originated from some combination of the two. StS, however, can not be considered a clone of DQ, as it introduced a lot of original ideas and spawned its own line of descendants. It is always interesting to analyze each new title to see which of two games was the biggest inspiration, and to group them accordingly. For me the main criteria lies in the core difference in battle system: - in StS, enemies (usually multiple) show their intentions at the beginning of each turn, so we know what to expect and what to play against; - in DQ, the enemy (usually single) draws and plays cards the same way as we do, often using the same abilities and synergies we ourselves can use. Introductions aside, let's finally get to the interesting part - the games! (Note: Games are listed in alphabetical order to not give any privileges to one over another. For my personal preferences see the comment section).
Dream Quest clones
Call of Lophis takes us on a grim journey through infested lands full of deadly monsters, dangerous traps, and one of the most ridiculous card art I have ever seen. It's surprising to see how dark fantasy elements combine with the humor and gags this game presents. From the gameplay point of view, there is enough card variety and interesting synergies, but it will take a long time to reach the interesting parts. Really: this game just does not know when to end, forcing new and new dungeon locations onto us with basically the same monsters and same approaches to dealing with them over and over. Its the boss battles which crank the difficulty up to over 9000, and if we don't have the right deck by the time we reach them, there is nothing we can do to pull it off. Plus there is some shady business going on with monetization schemes, where even paid version of the game makes us spend money to unlock additional classes and grind a lot to buy permanent improvements. Only truly dedicated players will be interested in dealing with all this nonsense. [...] UPD: Haven't checked on it for a long time - maybe the situation improved somehow. Crimson Deep is still in early alpha and was not updated for a long time. But the development hasn't stopped, and there is a new major release approaching in the nearest future. It makes no sense to talk about the game till then: the version in the store is too raw to provide any significant gameplay experience, but it would be interesting to see where it goes in the end. Dimension of Dream is probably the only game that has the same grid-based dungeon layout as DQ itself. This time with full 3D and a possibility to fight only limited set of enemies before facing the final boss (which allows to moderate difficulty as we go, either defeating tougher enemies with better rewards, or to save HP and fight only the easy ones). This game has one of the most interesting battle systems and 6 truly unique classes with deep complex strategies unlike anything we have ever seen (not only the cards themselves, but the order in which we play them greatly affects the outcome). Unfortunately, the English version was pulled from Google Play, leaving only Chinese version for Asian people to enjoy. UPD: Apparently, the game was re-released under different publisher with the title Dreaming Dimension, so there you have it. [...] Meteorfall: Journeys offers the streamlined approach to dungeon crawling, where all our decisions boil down to Reigns-like "swipe left / swipe right" operation: picking the path, encounter resolutions, and even battles are simplified to utilize this binary choice mechanic. But don't worry: these specifics do not affect the gameplay, still providing enough strategic depth to appeal even to hardcore players. Add here a neat visual style, lots of character classes and their variations, cool card combos, and you get a true masterpiece, which is Meteorfall. [...] Night of the Full Moon offers a fresh take on a fairy tale of Red Riding Hood, but adding darker elements to it (including werewolves, zombies, mad scientists and cursed cultists). It demonstrates an amazing production quality with top-tier art, beautiful audio support, and intriguing storytelling. Gameplay wise, we have the closest thing to DQ, safe for the grid-based dungeon maps, which were changed to just picking the encounter out of available three. Some people may argue that the game does not offer enough strategic variety, only suggesting a single best build for each class, but you will still get different runs due to the randomness of card and power-up drops. Another argument of it being too easy is completely nullified on higher difficulty levels. Wish the story would develop in a different direction, though. [...] Spellsword Cards: Origins provides the gameplay similar to the Night of the Full moon, but focuses more on role-playing character development part. Aside from choosing a class, we also get to pick race with unique traits, and a school of magic, greatly affecting which cards will be available to us during the run. The problem here, though, is that monster encounters do not demonstrate a lot of variety, forcing us to fight the same enemies over and over, and the difficulty is rather high, with starting cards doing almost nothing and enemies quickly run out of hand with their devastating attacks, whereas good cards are hard to come by, and even then you will still be devastated on later stages. [...] UPD: Or maybe I am just bad at this game (welcome to comment section for valid strategy suggestions).
Slay the Spire clones
Blood Card offers a unique possibility to construct the dungeon ourselves, providing a pool of encounters of different types: regular monsters, elite monsters, events and shops. We pick a desired encounter from the pool, deal with it and then move on to the next one. Another interesting feature is that our health is defined by the number of cards in draw pile, which limits our tactical possibilities, but is compensated by the fact that we get multiple copies of cards as rewards for fighting enemies. There are a lot of interesting mechanics related to moving cards between various piles, as well as other neat features (like: the Death inevitably arrives in three turns and starts whacking everyone on the field with increasing persistence), but I'll leave them for you to discover on your own. Card Crusade seemed like a cool idea of mixing classic "roguelike" dungeon crawling with its "deck-based" counterpart, where we explore the dungeon the same way as we do it in Hack, Angband, Pixel Dungeon and other similar games, but use cards to fight actual enemies. In reality though, this implementation just adds a useless abstraction, as the adventuring does not provide any tactical benefits and is only there to inter-connect battle sequences (heck, even breaking pots and chests does not give us any coin, of which developers themselves warn us at the very beginning!). The cards are not very interesting, with next to none cool synergies, and new classes (which should be unlocked by performing specific actions on previous runs) do not provide any major difference. [...] Card Quest takes us on an epic journey through fantasy lands, where we will perform great deeds as one of the classic RPG hero classes (fighter, wizard, rogue, ranger), each with their own equipment and fighting disciplines. The interesting part is that the cards we use during runs are defined by said equipment, and if we find some new pieces during our adventure, we get to keep them for further runs. Also worth noting that defense cards are played not during our turn, but during enemy turn, which requires us to plan ahead a bit. This being said, the game is extremely hard - it will take a lot of unsuccessful tries to finally reach the end. But the variety of dungeons and possible builds will keep us occupied for long. Dungeon Tales for a long time was the closest, yet simplified copy of StS mechanics (up to similar cards and gaming strategies), but without certain elaborate features, like upgrading cards or using potions. The basics are left intact though: we still build our deck along the way and face the powerful boss in the end. There are only two characters available yet, but each has a couple of viable builds, so it can keep us invested for quite some time. [...] Endless Abyss is a close StS clone with very similar character classes (only two so far) and a lot of cards with exactly the same effects. Graphically the game looks very good, but angry monetization, lots of grinding, and forced ads make it almost impossible to fully enjoy. [...] Heroes of Abyss is a predecessor to Endless Abyss with basically the same core gameplay, but very simplified dungeon crawling part. There is no floor map with choosing our path, nor there are elaborate adventure events: just a series of battles with the boss in the end. The spoils we get after each battle go into improving our starting deck and unlocking new difficulty modes with higher rewards. What makes the game unusual, is that we chose the preferred build right from the beginning with appropriate set of starting cards, without the need to rely on the randomness of card drops. It may be interesting to unlock and compare all the 6 available builds, but once the task is done, there is almost no reason to play the game further. Heroes Journey provides a different setting for a change: this time we will play as space explorers, who crash landed on an alien planet. Thus, instead of familiar swords and bows, we will be wielding blasters and energy shields: the rest remains the same, up to the majority of cards straight up copied from StS. Unfortunately, this innovative idea was completely ruined by repetitive grinding and angry monetization, forcing player to make dozens of identical runs with the same small card pool, until something adequate is unlocked. Oh, and the game is long abandoned by the developers. Pirates Outlaws is an amazing rework of original StS ideas in a pirate setting with some changes to gameplay mechanics, such as introducing persistent charges needed to play certain cards, and different buff/debuff statuses that replace each other. There are also some questionable features, such as ship stamina that deteriorates over the course of the journey and leads to game over if not repaired in time, or a quest system, where quests can not be completed in parallel, but instead picking the new quest resets your progress in the current one. Some may also argue that new classes take long to grind for, or expensive to pay for, but with permanent booster pack this should not be a problem. Anyway, the game is highly recommended for any StS fan. [...] Rogue Adventure offers a twist to usual mechanic: our hand is limited by 4 cards, but each time we use one of them, a new card is immediately drawn to its place, thus we never run out of cards to play. Non-starting cards are common for all classes, but are grouped by type (or race), giving huge synergies depending on how many similar cards we have. Aside from this, the game offers diverse gameplay by providing a lot of different classes, each with its own unique strategies and dynamics, and some interesting items to work around. The developers constantly provide updates with bug fixes and new content, but be warned that new mechanics may break what you are already accustomed for. Royal Booty Quest started as a straight rip-off from StS with the same classes and abilities, and even cards having the same names. And absolutely atrocious pixelated visuals, which were not possible to look at without eyes bleeding out. Over time, though, it developed its own unique mechanics and interesting card combinations, but the art style did not get any better. However, if this is not a problem, the game is enjoyable to an extent, but since it was not updated for a long time, I doubt it will keeps anyone's interest for long. [...] Tavern Rumble adds an unusual strategic element - a 3x3 grid, on each units and enemies are placed. The core gameplay remains the same (we still see what opponents are planning to do each turn and adjust our own strategy accordingly), but the addition of the grid introduces another tactical layer: not only we should maximize the damage output, but also plan the layout for our troops to provide the effective delivery of said output, while at the same time establish enough defense to minimize the damage to ourselves. There are a lot of cards and classes to play around, different play modes and a lot of features that are still being constantly added to the game. Some may argue about simplistic pixel graphics or long repetitive grinding, but it is easy to unlock everything within reasonable amount of time, even without paying. [...]
Other Games
Of course, my criteria does not work 100% of the time, as some games are way too different from anything else to confidently enroll them into one of the categories. They either demonstrate traits of both, or implement entirely unique mechanics of their own (which I like the most), while still maintaining the basic dungeon crawling ideas (so a lot of the games you might think of will not end up in the list). What I have in mind is the following: Dungeon Reels removes the cards from card-based dungeon crawler - why bother, right? Instead, it provides some kind of a slot machine, where each turn three rows spin independently to pick available actions based on what slots we have in our reel. Winning battles awards us with new, better slots to add, each with their own specifics and synergies. Enemies also randomize their moves with slots of their own, but the most satisfying mechanic is the possibility to spin a jackpot with three identical slots for some powerful effect. It is interesting to see this concept developed further, but the game has not been updated for a long time. Iris and the Giant takes us on journey through imaginary world, inspired by Ancient Greek mythology. Each battle takes place on a grid, where various enemies advance in huge numbers. We play a card from our hand, usually dealing damage to nearest enemy, and then everyone who is still standing and can reach us deals damage in return. There are cards that target multiple enemies at once, as well as ways to play more than one card during our turn, so most of the time we will be deciding which card to play at which moment. The deck has limited size, and if it becomes empty we lose, so new cards should be constantly acquired. There are a lot of interesting mechanics to discover, but the game is very hard and luck based, requiring a lot of trial-and-error to finally reach the end. [...] Phantom Rose Scarlet has the same basic core, but with completely innovative battle system, not seen in any other game. On each turn there are four positions for cards to be played in strict order, where two of them are randomly filled with opponent's cards, and the remaining two are left for us to fill. Instead of drawing the hand, we have our entire deck available right away, but playing cards puts them on a cooldown, which does not reset between battles, so we constantly face the strategic choice of playing our best cards right away or keep them for later. The game is in active development, providing new mechanics and further developing the story, which is quite captivating here. [...] Void Tyrant is a bit of a stretch, but still a "card based dungeon crawler", in which we basically play BlackJack against our enemies by dealing card with numbers from 1 to 6 one-by-one from our deck until we stand or bust. Whoever has the highest value wins and deals damage to the loser. There are various supporting cards on top of this mechanic, allowing us to either jinx the outcome in our favor, or to perform various other metagame manipulations. The only downside of the game is the lack of content, as it quickly runs out of interesting things, and since it was not updated for a long time, it is unlikely that anything new will be added in the future. [...]
Conclusion
As you see, there is a lot to play besides StS, so even if you are not hyped by its long-awaited Android release, but appreciate a good intellectual dungeon crawler, you will find something to suit your needs. I hope, even with StS release, new games of the genre will continue appearing on mobile phones, and I will gladly review them and add to the list. If you know any hidden gems (or even trash) that was not highlighted in this article, please share the names and/or links in the comments. I am also open to any discussions on the topic, as I am obviously able to talk a lot about my favorite genre. Good luck to everyone in all your endeavors. P.S. I am well aware of games like Dungeon Cards, Card Adventure, Dungeon Faster, Meteorfall: Krumitz Tale, Card Thief, Maze Machina, Cube Card, Card Hog, Fisherman, Relics of the Fallen and other "grid-based puzzles", but do not consider them to be a part of the "family".
MINT condition Grand Seiko SBGM221. One of the best looking GMT out there and like all GS, it plays with light beautifully. Comes with full kit (Box and papers)! It keeps great time, great movement, and beautiful ivory dial.
Welcome to Max the Min Monday! The post series where we take some of Paizo’s weakest, most poorly optimized options and see what the best things we can do with them are using 1st party Pathfinder materials! But first, a personal message I'm back! I had to take a break from Reddit entirely for several weeks and I'm still spending less time on reddit as my personal stuff goes on, but I now am at least able to resume my favorite post series. I want to extend my personal thanks and appreciation to u/PaladinsDontGetCrunk and u/MakeItStop who refused to let Max the Min Monday stop just because I couldn't keep it going. Because of them and the participation of everyone, things kept rolling despite my absence. I enjoyed reading the posts I missed immensely. And now. . .Last week you all discussed a slow progression Mystic Theurge! Whereas others (myself being guilty) use tricks for early entry or entry to get a more full casting progression than normal, last week went the opposite route. Only casters who get 2nd level spells at 4th level were allowed. Oracles were used to get abilities to augment the weaknesses and have a curse that still scales with multiclassing. Magus was another popular combination for action economy (I even proposed a Magus / Warpriest mix to be the king of action of economy). Bloodrager base mystic theurge is a LONG delay, but does open up options for Greater Bloodrage combos since you can use your Bloodrager spell slots to cast spells of the other class. And on and on! This Week’s Challenge This week we discuss Sword Saint Samurai. . . record scratch. . . wait this still hasn't been covered? Wow u/BoneTFohX, you have patience. That wasn't a new nominee even when I had to leave, thought for sure it would have won before this. Well, today is finally the day! In Japanese media, being able to defeat an opponent as you draw your weapon is an icon. So why is it so darn difficult in Pathfinder? Anyways, what is wrong with Sword Saint? Well it has focus on one really suboptimal mechanic: Iaijutsu Strike. You trade away your mount for a special attack that has damage progression similar to that of a rogue. So what is wrong with that? Well like the rogue it suffers from being extremely limited in when you can get that damage. In fact, it is even more difficult to get off Iaijutsu Strike than a sneak attack. First, you can only use Iaijutsu Strike on a target you have challenged, so there goes your swift action and you have suddenly tied your main archetype ability to another ability with limited uses. That's right, at level one you've traded an animal companion that progresses and has its own actions for a 1x per day +1d6. And it doesn't get much better as you level. Then there is the strike itself. It is a full-round action until level 10 when it becomes a standard, meaning you'll need to wade to melee before activating it for most of your character's life. Even when you do have it as a standard action, there is the caveat that you can only perform an Iaijutsu Strike when your weapon begins the round in its sheath and you have yet to attack your opponent. Yep. So if you want to use this multiple rounds, either you need to wear a bunch of sheathed weapons, spend AoO provoking move actions to re-sheath (and potentially forgo all AoOs if you have no other means of threatening), or find some other cheesy way to meet the sword's requirements. Oh, and even if you do cheese that, you'd have to challenge another enemy (using up those precious daily uses) since you can only Iaijutsu Strike each enemy once per day, hit or miss. Oh did I mention that you also get a -4 penalty to AC after using the strike? And that it stacks with the challenge's -2 AC against everyone you aren't challenging? Oh and that the archetype doesn't allow the use of shields? It's like Pathfinder thought giving it a worse sneak attack wasn't bad enough, but apparently the Sword Saint needs to be really easy to hit after finally pulling off this extremely action-intensive ability. So how do we fix it? I'm not sure, but I'll have a blast reading the ideas! Don’t Forget to Vote! Nominate topics in the dedicated comment thread below! See the comment for details. Finishing Season of the Hunt Content
Notes: Bungie are changing the way seasonal content works so now instead of removing the content each season they will be keeping most of it until the end of the year's major expansion. Also to note as a reminder that you should continue to work on Beyond Light content as some or most could be removed towards the end of Season 15.
Season Pass & Rewards - The season pass will reset for season 13, so to make the most of it, reach rank 100 to claim all the rewards and cosmetics. [Edit 1] You can cliam the rewards next season as well, so if you wish to power level faster it's recommended to claim the armor and engrams next season using your bungie account on the web, see the link in sources.
Seasonal Artifact - Not much to gain from here, but the seasonal artifact will reset for the new season to reflect upon a new theme and new mods (unsure if you can keep the mods and carry them over to future seasons).
Materials - This will be the Phaseglass Needles (Io), Alkane Dust (Titan), Simulation Seeds (Mercury) & Seraphite (Mars). These won't be completely removed but will no longer be accepted for trading with vendors.
Crucible Tokens - Bungie confirmed on January 15 that crucible tokens will be removed, so use them all at Shax before the season ends.
Triumphs - Seasonal triumphs in the Nightfall Strikes, Crucible & Gambit will reset for the new season, these award triumph score now so complete these to not miss out on additional score. You can see the ones being removed as it states 'expires at the end of season 12 (or 15)'; most if not all you will find under the 'Seasonal' triumphs tab. Also be sure to get the +20 bonus power triumph within the seasonal section. It's around Season Rank 200 to get this.
Title Seals - Flawless & Conquer triumph seals reset for the new season, also, they are changing the way title seals work in season 13, for more information, click here to view the latest article on this, or visit the link at the bottom of this post.
Stockpile
Notes: As always, you are able to continue stockpiling materials to help you become more prepared for new content with strict material requirements. Here is the list.
Glimmer - Obtained from everything. Keep 250,000 max glimmer, then buy the Otherside or Overdrive Exotic Sparrows and store them in the vault. They cost 7,500 Glimmer and 5 Legendary Shards. When dismantling, they return 5,000 Glimmer and 5 Shards so you're only wasting 2,500 Glimmer. It's a neat trick but no longer essential. The choice is yours.
Legendary Shards - Obtained from dismantling legendary gear. Don't worry too much about these because I'm confident next season's umbral engrams will throw you thousands like there's no tomorrow.
Mod Components - The only way to get these now are from Gunsmith bounties as Ada-1 is no longer with us, she abandoned us!
Enhancement Cores - Obtained from Nightfalls, Gunsmith bounties, clan-gram weekly challenge and chances from legendary gear + masterworked gear.
Enhancement Prisms - Best way to farm these are from the Nightfall Ordeals, Exchange from Gunsmith or buy from Spider which I wouldn't recommend. You can hold 50 in your inventory and another 50 per character's postmaster, so a total of 200. To do this, max your inventory prisms to 50, then any additional prisms obtained will go to the postmaster, I'd recommend doing the Pit of Heresy boss encounter 3x per week, once on each character, then dismantle the masterworked gear given to you, once maxed out, leave the masterworked armor in the vault. Protip: In Season 13, the Pit of Heresy will noi longer award masterworked gear (so do this now).
Ascendant Shards - You can keep 10 of these in your inventory and another 10 per character's postmaster (see Prisms on how to do this), these are obtained mostly from high difficulty Nightfall Ordeals or bought by Gunsmith.
Upgrade Modules - Used for infusing gear which you'll go through a lot next season when power levelling, obtained from Gunsmith, hold up to 25.
Planetary Materials - The ones you'll want to keep are the EDZ, Nessus, Tangled Shore, Dreaming City, The Moon, Cosmodrome and Europa. You can buy materials from Spider or collect them at their destinations, you can also complete activities like patrols or bounties within their planet as well. I'd recommend keeping a few thousand of each.
Bright Dust - Obtained by weekly & repeatable featured playlist bounties (crucible, gambit and strikes), you can also get a lot of bright dust from the season pass which I strongly recommend as they throw you an insane amount.
Memory Fragments - Bungie confirmed you can no longer hold on to memory fragments (used to unlock new stasis aspects/fragments), but perhaps you could have a quest to 'near completed' then complete it next season? Just something I thought I'd point out.
Exotic Ciphers - You can only hold 1 Exotic Cipher, used at Xur or the Exotic Archive, in which you can get these from Xur's weekly quest on a weekend.
Spoils of Conquest - Obtained from playing Raids and used in Raids or for Raid Exotics at the Exotic Archive. Not essential, but something you can save.
Raid Banners - Hold up to 100 banners in your inventory, buy these from Hawthorn at the Tower (the clan vendor).
Bounty Prep
Notes: Bounties MAY be changing in Season 13 as Bungie have hinted the removal of Weekly Bounties, this appears to be confirmed as Bungie's recent TWAB reveals a screenshot of Shaxx's new inventory that shows only Daily & Repeatable bounties. No weekly bounties. But until further confirmation has been stated, this guide will remain here and will act as if nothing is changing regarding bounties. I'll update this if and when any news comes around regarding bounty changes. A spreadsheet for all the XP values (outdated) from Season of Arrives is linked at the bottom of this post. Season 13 Bounty Prep Guide (NEW - will be added if and when changes or news is confirmed by Bungie) Notes: [TBD]
[TBD]
Season 8-12 Bounty Prep Guide (subject to change, see above for any changes) Notes: Bright Dust Weekly, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris & The Crow's bounties may not carry over to Season 13. See below to maximise your XP gains based on methods working from previous seasons. I'd recommend using the Pre-Season Checklist (linked in sources) as it's a good tool to track your prepping progress, it will show you all the bounties XP values, how much XP you have stored, what bounties are currently available at the time and has other tracking benefits alongside that. So to maximize your XP next season, you want to pick up the following bounties;
2 Weekly Vanguard Bounties (24,000 XP)- [Edit 2] Being Removed
6 Daily Vanguard Bounties (36,000 XP)
2 Weekly Crucible (24,000 XP)- [Edit 2] Being Removed
6 Daily Crucible (36,000 XP)
2 Weekly Gambit (24,000 XP)- [Edit 2] Being Removed
6 Daily Gambit (36,000 XP)
2 Weekly Gunsmith (24,000 XP)- [Edit 2] Being Removed
6 Daily Gunsmith (36,000 XP)
2 Moon Weeklies (24,000 XP)
2 Nightmare Weeklies (24,000 XP)
2 Cosmodrome Weekly (24,000 XP)
2 Europa Weekly (24,000 XP)
4 Clan XP Weekly Bounties (48,000 XP)
2 Crow's Weekly Bounties (24,000 XP)- [Edit 2] Being Removed
So far you should be holding 22 Weekly Bounties (264,000 Base XP) and 24 Daily Bounties (144,000 Base XP) totaling to 46 Bounties (408,000 Base XP x [multiply by] 3 characters making the new total Base XP Value = 1,224,000 XP not including 12% Ghost XP and Fireteam bonus XP) This alone is 12 season pass levels. At each weekly reset until the end of the season (RNG) pick up any new weekly bounties but ensure you have a total of 8 Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit & Gunsmith bounties, this is to ensure you complete all 4 tower challenges which is additional XP. Replace any daily bounties with Weekly ones. Weekly > Daily > Repeatables
Weekly Bounties give 12,000 XP
Daily Bounties give 6,000 XP
Repeatable Bounties give 4,000 XP
Do not pick up Spider or Dreaming City bounties, these are and have been outdated since Season 7 of the Year 2 Forsaken Expansion. Overall, roughly, you should be holding around 1.5 to 2 Million XP by the end of the season. Hand them all in next season ONLY when you have the Seasonal Artifact for Season 13 unlocked, are in a fireteam with 2 others, and have the maximum XP boost available to you for your Ghost Shell.

(the dramas are still not accessible with this) I have also included an FAQ in this guide for those who may find it useful; [FAQs:] Q: Can I pirate Vita games? • A. You certainly can, and it's possible on a 3.60-3.73 Vita Q: Can I downgrade my Vita? • A. Yes, with modoru. Q: What's the best firmware to use? • A. The only differences are that 3.60 and 3.65 are Enso compatible, 3.68-3.73 is not. And that 3.60 has a much easier method to exploit it over 3.65 and 3.68 but also the webkit makes it easier to save you from troubles that can arise as we don’t need a memorycard, psn access or a qcma. I highly recommend people to choose that one. Note that if you have a fat (OLED) Vita, you will need an official Sony memory card in order to use the 3.65 and 3.73 exploits as they require internal storage. If you’re in 3.60 you can use mlthaku Q: Can I play games with a firmware requirement higher than what my current firmware is? • A. Yes, you can, thanks to 0syscall6. Q: What games can I pirate? • A. Any game out there. Q: What's the fastest way to play pirated games? • A. Upon getting your Vita, install the NoNpDRM plugin to the ux0:tai/config.txt or ur0:tai/config.txt (depending on if you are using SD2Vita or not), then install pkgj. Q: What about PS1 and PSP games? Do those come in .vpk/.pkg files? • A. PS1 games can be converted into an eboot to be used with Adrenaline or can be left as .bin/.cue for use with Retroarch. PSP games need to be in .iso/.cso format to be used with Adrenaline. You can also see if they're available in pkgj Q: I require assistance, can you help me? • A. Yes sure, but first read the faq, if your question is about a generic issue (plugins not working, hack installation, downgrade) check first the troubleshooting guide and ask help in the VitaPiracy discord where people are available to personally help you. If you feel that your issue is not generic or complex, make a post about it. For exemple, "nonpdrm is not working help" shouldn't need a post. "I haven't touched my Vita since 2009 what updates do I need" are ok Q: How do I install Adrenaline to play PSP/PS1/PSP homebrew? • A. Here's the github for Adrenaline Q: Can I still play games I downloaded from PSN or use my cartridges? • A. Yes. Q: How do I update my game? • A. With NoNpDRM dumps, you can use the Livearea to update your game. If you're using the anti-blacklist hack on your PSTV, you can download game updates with pkgj without having to disable the blacklist Q: My PSTV isn't installing a Livearea update. How do I fix it? • A. If you have a antiblacklist hack installed, it may prevent installing for some games, but certainly does for games originally not allowed. Disable the antiblacklist hack to install the update. Q: How do I know if a game update requires a certain firmware? • A. Use VitaGameUpdateChecker Q: What is NoNpDRM? • A. It's a plugin by TheFloW that lets you play encrypted, untampered Vita games. Read more about it here Q: What differences are there between Vitamin, NoNpDRM, and Maidump? • A. See this chart Q: What differences are there between 3.60 Enso, 3.65 Enso, and h-encore • A. See this chart Q: Can I transfer my saves if I'm still on Vitamin/Maidump dumps to be used with the NoNpDRM plugin? • A. Yes. savemgr is a useful tool to easily backup/restore your saves. Alternatively, you can backup your savedata folder in ux0:use00/savedata. Q: My dumps are currently Maidumps. Should I swap them out to play with the NoNpDRM plugin? How do I do that? • A. You'll be fine with sticking to Maidumps if you're updated to the latest version possible and used the method to prevent your saves being wiped after you resume your Vita from sleep (detailed in "Q: I lost my savedata after I started my Vita up from suspend mode!..."). To swap the dumps, you can either use savemgr or manually copy/paste the game's savefolder (ux0:use00/savedata) to backup your saves before deleting the game in question to restore it after downloading and installing the NoNpDRM rip Q: How do I rip/play games with NoNpDRM? • A. Use this guide Q: Where's NoPayStation and how do I use it? • A. You can find a bunch of links to games, the tool and a tutorial here Q: How do I use pkgj (freeshop for the Vita) to download games right on to my Vita? • A. Making sure you have NoNpDRM working prior to this, get pkgj from here and install it. Open the app, and refresh (triangle to open the menu, then select refresh) and you will be able to select which game you want to install. Note: You can press L when a game is highlighted if you want to download its compatibility pack (0.31 pkgj or higher). You don’t need that if you use ref00d/0syscall6 Q: I've installed pkgj, but it does not work. It says "install failed" when trying to download the game. • A1: Your NoNPDRM plugin might cause this issue. Check your config.txt and make sure the plugin is listed there correctly. • A2: Try changing the plugin's path in ur0/ux0:tai to "ur0:/tai/nonpdrm.skprx" or "ux0:/tai/nonpdrm.skprx", wherever it's placed (It's best to keep all plugins in ur0: and keep a backup in ux0:). • A3: There is an issue with size (you need to check it out on pkgj's github, I'm not sure) some people are experiencing. • A4: If everything fails, it may be that the zrif is invalid. Use NPS browser on your PC instead (as a bonus you get access to PSP/PSX/PS3 titles and DLCs (including Vita DLCs) Q: Can I delete my game, but backup my saves? • A. Yes, use savemgr. Q: How do I mod NoNpDRM games? • A. To mod games, install RePatch and treat ux0:repatch as ux0:app, then put your decrypted, modded files in the correct file path. Follow these github instructions for savemgr. For mods that require a modified eboot, follow the tutorial for modified eboots Q: NPS browser is giving me "PKG Decrypt Err!" on everything • A: You are probably using pkg2zip parameters with pkg_dec. You should download pkg2zip and use it instead in order to use all of NPS browser's features. Q: What else can I do with my Vita? • A. Some other things you can do are transfer files using a FTP client or direct transfer using Vitashell 1.60+, configure controls past the game's options, modifying game files (undubs, translations, graphical hacks, etc.), playing PSP/PS1 games with native emulation, use microSDcards as storage, or whitelisting your PSTV to play all games. Q: Where do you find the "refresh livearea", "mount uma0:", and "refresh license database" options in Vitashell? • A: While viewing all partitions (ux0:, ur0:,...), press triangle. Q: Can I play online, download, and update my games? • A: You can update your legitimate games regardless of your firmware. As far as online is concerned, PSN spoofing still works, so you can use the PSN store, sync trophies, play online, etc. Q: I'm not going to bother with Playstation network services. Can I use a Vita without having an account? • A: Yes, you can set up a trial account when you set up your system. Q: Can I use a USB as storage with my PSTV? • A. Yes. It needs to be formatted to FAT32 and you need to be using Vitashell 1.60 or later. For your first time using it, when viewing all partitions in Vitashell (ur0:, uma0:, etc), press triangle, mount the USB as uma0:, disconnect and connect the USB again if it asks you to, press triangle again, and mount it as ux0:. Making sure you have Enso installed, use usbmc_installer so that the USB will be mounted on boot every time. You can also either use storagemanager using the UMA option in the config (for exemple set UMA=ux0 in storagemgr_config.txt) in order to mount the USB storage as the memorycard at boot Q: "MicroSD cards as storage? How do I do it?" • A: To use a microSD card on your Vita, You will an adapter that will need to take up your cartridge slot or one that will replace your 3G modem (only for the 3G Fat model). I am only aware of Yifanlu selling those type of adapters, but here is a thread for one of the latest SD2Vita designs. They've yet to ship, but there's a place to look. Check the other pinned message for other adapters. Use this guide from cfw.guide to use it. Q: "How do I upgrade from my memory card/internal storage to a SD2Vita?" • A: Make sure you can view hidden folders and unhide protected operating system files in your Windows' folder options (picture), then back up all the files from your memory card and ur0:shell/db/app.db (which you can access by opening up a FTP server with Vitashell if your Vita's not in safe mode) so that your bubbles are in the same place. You can copy the entire memory card to your PC using Vitashell. After that, copy everything onto your microSD card (provided that you formatted your microSD card correctly as pointed out in the Wololo tutorial. Q: How do I move to a bigger microSD card, say 128GB to 256GB? • A: It's the same deal as upgrading from an official memory card to your SD2Vita card, except you obviously don't need Vitashell to move files across the memory cards. Another thing to take into consideration is that you need to manually set the cluster size to 64kb since the size of the microsd is bigger we need to adjust it. Q: Where do I put PSP/PS1 games? • A: PSP games go in ux0, ur0, or uma0:pspemu/iso/[isoname].iso. PS1 eboots go in ux0, ur0, or uma0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/[GAMEID]/EBOOT.PBP If you have put it on uma0: ur0: you need to change the memory stick path in adrenaline settings to ur0/uma0 (long press PS button to open the quick menu, then press settings button for adrenaline) Q: "Where can I get normal PSP ISOs and special modified ISOs (translations, etc.)? • A. You can use Emuparadise with a workaround script for normal ISOs and NextGenRoms for modified ISOs. There's also a spreadsheet that has some links still active (backup to that spreadsheet) Q: How do I launch my PSP games from the Livearea just like a PS Vita game? • A. Use AdrenalineBubbleManager Q: How do I install .vpks without needing double the space of it? • A. .vpks are basically renamed .zip files. Either rename them to a .zip for extraction or use an extraction program (I use 7-Zip) to extract the .vpk as-is. You can then install it as a folder in Vitashell Q: I lost my savedata after I started my Vita up from suspend mode! What happened? • A: Vitamin and Maidumps required a work around for games to work, so their metadata gets messed up. Savedata can as a result disappear from these dumps. You can check ux0:use00/savedata_backup and see if your save is there. To stop this from happening, create a folder in ux0:use00/savedata and rename it to "list.dat". Q: Will I get banned for playing online with pirated games, syncing trophies with pirated games, or using any PSN service with spoofing? • A: No, you won't. There haven't been any reports of bans as a result of any of these activities, but there have been unconfirmed ban reports of syncing trophies with a pre-release vpk of the US Criminal Girls and a developer build of Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom back in November-ish and September, respectively. Another case of temporary IP bans came as a result of the near app excessively pinging Sony's servers. At this point, there's no chance of you getting banned. Q: I've been told that the Vita has no games. Is this true? • A: If all you care about are exclusives, certain Vita publishers (Spike Chunsoft, Koei Tecmo, XSEED and NISA) have been porting their Vita titles to the PC, with the most recent being Valkyrie Drive and Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls. Some Vita ports (Virtua Tennis 4, Rayman Legends, and Dead or Alive 5+) have content exclusive to the system, which make them worthwhile to visit. Gematsu has a very accurate list of the status of the exclusives. Otherwise, the system has quite a few strong ports. It's weak in some genres, like racing games or first-person shooters, but is very strong in role-playing games and anime tie-ins, so your mileage will vary. Q: Will oclockvita/VSHMenu damage my system? • A: No. Sony kept the system underclocked from it's maximum clock speeds. Oclockvita and VSHMenu only take the Vita's clock speeds to the maximum allowed by the Vita's SoC. Q: Do I use Lolicon or PSVshell? • A: PSVshell should be what you need. It’s a better lolicon version Q: I have heard about or have experienced a savedata error which made me lose my savedata! What can I do to keep this from happening? • A: If you're using only NoNpDRM dumps, you will not have this issue. If you're using a Maidump, use this method to keep it from happening again. Q: I want to request a dump, translation, or save file. Do I just make a thread on that? • A: No, you need to use the correct thread underneath the subreddit info. Making a thread will result in the post being deleted and a warning. Q: I need help with an emulator. Can I ask about my problem here? • A. Emulator discussion is better suited over at vitahacks. Q: Can I post anything I create on Vita here? • A: We'll make an exemption to the rule here (yes, even with uncensored mods). If you think it'll better suit this subreddit instead of vitahacks or just want to cross post, go ahead. This subreddit has several thousand people subscribed to it and we don't want to deny community created creations that exposure. 99% of things will be allowed. You'd have to make something like a bricker vpk for it to be denied from this subreddit. If too much stuff gets posted, however, we'll dial this back and remove more lesser quality or less relevant creations. Lastly, try to post it when it's as finished as possible. ;) Q: Can I post a thread asking for help with my creation? • A: Translation and mod threads are 100% acceptable here, but you need to know what you're doing and/or have at least some part of it done. You can also ask in vitahacks. Q: What letters in the game's ID (ex. PCSA) go with what regions? • A: Here's a guide for that
Last week my neighbor’s apartment was sealed shut. There is something terrible going on inside.
Until last week, I paid little attention to apartment 23. I knew that an older Japanese man lived there, Hisong something. I’d seen his family stop by occasionally and drop off groceries, or just to check and make sure he was all right. Nothing of any interest really. Then on Monday, right before Christmas; I walked out my front door and noticed that his door was completely sealed up by chains and wooden boards nailed on either side preventing any entry. I scratched my head in curiosity, wondering why I hadn’t heard anyone in the hallway the night before. I knew I was a heavy sleeper but the amount of effort that had been put into sealing up his door was odd. Still, I tried to not think about it too much. I figured that he must have passed away and the super was going to clean his flat soon and didn’t want anyone to go in during the process. Maybe there was bed bugs or mold or something, I knew the building had problems with that before. I didn’t realize there was a problem until I got home from work that evening and noticed that his family had stopped by and were shouting in their native tongue through the door, as though expecting a response. To my surprise, Mister Hisong responded. I think I dropped my keys in surprise as I was right behind them, causing his daughter to notice me. “You… neighbor to father, yeah?” she asked. I fumbled and picked up the keys and smiled awkwardly. I felt bad that this was the first time I had ever cared to have a conversation with them. “Richard. Is… everything okay with your dad?” I asked, pointing toward the door. “He very sick. We come bring food,” the son said gesturing toward a casserole they had made. “Oh. So then all of that is for quarantine?” I guessed. “Very very sick. No one should go in,” the daughter insisted. “How do you plan to give him the food then?” I asked. They showed me a tiny slot at the bottom of the door which looked like it was meant for a pet, and then placed the food down there, before calling to their father that they had done so. “Please, Mister Richard. No matter what you hear, do not let him out,” the daughter told me. “I don’t think I would be able to do that even if I wanted to,” I joked to her as I scratched my head in amazement. “What exactly is he sick with?” They didn’t bother answering that one, which left me a little unsettled. Was I in danger of infection? I had never seen anyone take this much precaution even from covid. Was it a new strain? My curiosity won out and after that I decided to pay close attention to anything that happened across the hallway. It didn’t take long for me to discover that whatever was going on was more dangerous than any virus though. Again I was coming home from work when I heard this sharp barking coming from inside his room. It sounded like a dog was fighting something and not winning. Instinctively I felt compelled to ask him “is everything all right?” The barking stopped a moment later and I heard the scrambling of feet. “Yes. Yes. All is fine here. Did my family bring me any food today?” he asked. I looked around the floor but didn’t see any dishes. “No. It doesn’t look like it. Are you hungry? I was going to cook up some burgers.” “Starving.” he said in a raspy voice. He sounded like he was in a lot of pain. “I’ll make you one. Just gimme a few.” I went inside and started to cook the ground beef, trying to not be too worried about whatever he was going through. But when I came back out to the door, I couldn’t get a response for him to come get the food. “All right, i will just leave it down here then,” I said setting the plate down near the slot in the door. A moment later his hand snatched out, grabbed ahold of the plastic and swung the food inside within mere seconds. It was so jarring it caused me to shout in surprise. “Well… you’re welcome.” I said nervously as I heard the low growl of the dog again. My mind replayed the scene over as I returned to my own flat. His arm hadn’t looked… human. What the hell was happening to this old man? The sounds got worse after that. Growling and screaming worse than anything I’ve ever heard before. A few of the other neighbors were starting to complain, but it seemed like the super didn’t want to cause trouble. “Whatever this is; it isn’t natural. Best to just leave it alone,” he told all of us. Unfortunately for me that was easier said than done, when every time I passed his door I heard Mister Hisong begging for help. “Please. Please open this door. You must kill me. If you have any decency at all I need to just die!” he shrieked. One morning I saw his two children approach, this time with what appeared to be a large jar and I had enough, demanding answers. “It’s been almost five days. Your father needs medical attention. Or some kind of help! He sounds like he is dying,” The two exchanged worried glances. “We appreciate your concern, Mister Richard. But this is a family matter. You should no longer involve yourself,” the daughter told me. “It’s not just me. The whole apartment is talking. The super won’t do anything but if you don’t take action soon… I will call the police,” I warned them. The two siblings bowed respectfully placing the jar near the middle of the hallway and commenting, “All will soon be resolved, Mister Richard. Please trust this.” They ran down the stairs before I got a chance to scold them again. In frustration I kicked the jar over. A thousand angry hornets and beetles skittered out on the floor, festering over one another as a swarm. I stepped back in awe, watching as the insects fought one another, making low buzzing noises as the hornets stung at the smaller insects and the beetles fought hard to bite back. Was this what they planned to feed to their father now? Had he completely lost all sense of humanity? After a few more seconds of watching only one insect, a larger horned beetle; seemed alive in the mass of bugs and a snarl from Mister Hisong’s door brought me back to reality. The rest of the bugs seemed to form one solid fluid mass as I watched in fascination and then I watched Hisong’s long bony arm reach out from the slot, desperately trying to reach the bugs. “Please Mister Richard, you must help me,” he begged again. I moved a few feet closer and used the tip of my boot to scoot the dish closer, giving him a chance to touch the fluid with his fingers. “It is no use… I can never be free of this curse,” he said sourly as he rested his arm in defeat. I leaned closer, trying to look through the slot in the door to get a glimpse at my neighbor. “Tell me what I can do to help,” I offered. It wasn’t right for his family to treat him this way, but I knew that if this bizarre ritual were to continue more harm would likely come to everyone in the building. This needed to stop. “The insects. I must Consume their fluid. It is the only way that I may hope for the spirit to pass.” I didn’t know whether to question him or not, but decided to just do as he asked and ran to get a spoon. I knelt down and scooped up bits of the insects, offering them to him as he ate. He frequently paused between bites and thanked me. “I simply must get out of here. You don’t know what it is like, experiencing this evil.” I looked toward the door, feeling sorry for the old man. His family seemed intent on making him suffer based on some ancient belief. But no ritual would save him, I thought. He needs A doctor. “Hold tight,” I decided, my mind made up about what I was going to do. I ran back to my apartment and looked through some of my tools. I don’t have much that could help, but I figured even a small hand axe might do the job. Finally I found an old one and ran back out to the door, instructing Mister Hisong to stand away from the door. Immediately I started to slam the blade against the wooden blocks, hitting it time and time again to break it apart. It took about seven minutes, but I didn’t stop until I could jar the door open. “Mister Hisong! I’m coming inside!” I told him as I used my brute force to push the rest of the way in. As soon as I got inside, the first thing that hit me was the overwhelming smell. It was as though something had died in the apartment. Then I saw exactly where it was coming from in the center of his room. There was a circle of stones leading up to what looked like the head of a dog. I couldn’t see anything except for it’s swollen red tongue and Grey fur. Yet somehow, despite not having a body, the creature opened its piercing black eyes and stared straight at me. It felt like I was looking into its soul. I started to feel this warm heavy sensation of pain against my chest and I dropped the axe and stumbled backward. My vision was growing blurry and I could hardly make out the naked figure of my neighbor, chained to the wall. Hisong looked like skin and dried muscle attached to a bony outline, as though he had spent the last few days starving himself to death. As I slipped down to the floor I could hear him repeating some strange chant in Japanese and my head suddenly felt very dizzy. Then the entire room began to spin. It was a blur for me after that. I heard the muttering of voices as his family came, trying to decide what to do with me. I heard the whine from the bodiless dog as they fed it the final insect from that weird copper jar. Then I felt them drag me back across the hall to my own apartment. When I woke, I was shirtless, covered in sweat and felt extremely dizzy. Immediately I ran to the door to confront Mister Hisong, but all evidence of his apartment ever being sealed up now had been cleared away. He was standing there, looking much healthier than he had for the last week and humming to himself when he saw me. “Ah Mister Richard! I wanted to thank you my friend for helping me recover this past week. This virus was a nasty business,” he told me. As he unlocked his door I looked in the apartment for any sign of the horrible things I had seen before my blackout and scratched my head in confusion. “I’m sorry, all of it feels like a lifetime ago for some reason. Are you okay now?” He smiled and laughed. “Never better, never better.” I couldn’t help but to be jealous of his sudden recovery especially considering how terrible I was feeling now. In fact by that evening I felt bed ridden and called in to work. It’s gotten worse sense then, so much so that I feel I’ve been hallucinating. I have seen that bodiless dog stalking me from the corners of my apartment, it’s mouth open and snarling ready to pounce. I fear if I fall asleep it will devour me whole. The next morning I saw the family of Mister Hisong arrive and they told me they intend to stay there while he recovers. “It seems while helping father you may have picked up something, so we want to help you too,” the daughter said, offering me a jar. “It’s not filled with bugs is it?” I teased her. Her stoic expression didn’t reassure me. As I went back into my flat I couldn’t help but to feel they were watching me. Call me crazy, but I think they did something to me. I think they have passed on whatever curse their father had to me. I’ve been feeling so sleepy, that floating dog head is getting closer every night. And the food I have here just doesn’t seem filling anymore. Everything is dry and bitter. I keep staring at that jar, and hearing the faint buzzing of hornets. And then the bark of a dog. Is it coming from my own mouth? “You should contact your family to care for you, the way we did for father. Family should be together in times like this,” Mister Hisong’s son encouraged me. That sounded like a good idea. I’m so scared though. I have this deep unsettling feeling that this will only make things worse. In my dreams I feel the dog chewing on my body, nipping at my sore and swollen flesh. And then I wake up with bite marks all over. If my family does come I think I will have only one request. They need to seal up my door too. Or else I think this is just going to happen again. 330
Hi all, I've had my hands on a PineTab for about two months now and was thinking it might be beneficial for others to write a review about it since they are projected to be coming back in stock around the Lunar New Year. I'll try to break the review down into a few parts and ramble as little as possible. Just a few points before I start:
I use KDE on my main system so I am comfortable and used to it
I have used Linux systems for quite a few years now and am comfortable with fixing issues through terminal
I purchased this device with the expectation that it will be more for tinkering than a daily driver
I have only really used Mobian and Manjaro KDE on the device
PineTab Build The build of the PineTab was surprisingly great for the cost of it. It was heavier than I expected and for the most part did not feel cheaply put together. Some may think that the plastic back cover is cheap but I thought it was great and the tactile feel of it felt nice and helped grip the device. The power and volume rocker buttons feel good and aren't loose/wiggly like other cheaper devices that I've had in the past. The rear camera fits nicely inside the case and does not protrude and the front camera is built into the bezel. There were enough inputs for everything I wanted to connect to the device, USB, micro-usb, HDMI, audio, power, and micro SD. My one complain about the inputs is the micro SD slots. I REALLY dislike how it was built because the cover itself feels incredibly flimsy and feels like it will rip off any second now and the slot is such a pain to put an SD card into if you have short nails. I literally had to use a guitar pick to push the micro SD card into the slot and to pop it out. For the amount of time I spend putting an SD card into the slot for flashing and testing, I would really hope that future versions have a better built slot/cover. Screen The PineTab screen felt large enough for a number of uses including note-taking, video watching, and drawing. The bezels are quite large but, as a person with larger hands, I felt they were the perfect size for folding onto while using the device. The screen doesn't feel cheap when touching it and is also quite sturdy because I have dropped the device a few times and didn't get any cracks or dents. The 720p resolution of the screen is sometimes noticeable when looking at some text or pictures but I don't feel like it is too limiting. Camera I haven't had much of an opportunity to test the cameras since the distros that I have tested are still in the early stages of getting them to work. Mobian had a working version of an application called Megapixel that was able to capture images albeit in the wrong orientation and at a quite poor resolution. I feel like this will be fixed with time but don't expect to be taking beautiful panorama shots or using the camera for video calls right now. Audio The speakers on the PineTab are probably one of the cheapest parts of it. They will make sound but it is quite low quality and rather quiet. I was able to watch some videos with audio and could easily make out the audio in a quiet room but don't expect to really be able to use this in a loud environment. There is also currently a bug in both Mobian and Manjaro where, when an application that can make sound is opened, an annoying screeching sound is emitted from the speakers while the application is open. To me it sounds like it's some form of over-amplification that is probably caused by something on the software side but it is really annoying to listen to even when you are using a muted application. The headphone jack works fine for audio. Battery Life The battery has so far been great for me but I am wary to review it since battery life is often tied to the energy saving features of a distro. On Mobian, I was able to play around with the device for 30-60 minutes a day for 4-5 days straight on a single battery. Manjaro unfortunately has some issues with suspending on my side so I haven't really been able to properly test the standby of it but I was able to use it/restart the device for a few hours straight and it only went down to about 70% battery. I think the battery is a great size for being able to charge the device overnight and then use it on and off throughout a day or two once the distros have fully finished their energy saving features. Performance and Usability You might be asking "Why the hell is this section all the way at the bottom?" which is exactly what I would be saying. I wanted to discuss all the other part of the PineTab first because a majority of those points are for the hardware itself but performance and usability tends to be tied to the distro that you choose to use. Like I said earlier, Mobian and Manjaro KDE were the two distros that I properly tested so I will be breaking this section down into those two. 1. Mobian Mobian is a great distro with a very active and kind community. The quality of the distro itself reflected that for the most part. After being a little disappointed by UBPorts upon first booting up my PineTab, Mobian felt miles ahead in responsiveness and quality. Mobian uses Phosh as its DE and it is clear that Phosh was made with mobile/touch in mind because the menus were quite easy to navigate via touch inputs. There was a number of preinstalled applications that helped cover a number of tasks that one may look to do including an email (Geary), terminal (King's Cross), software store (Software), and web browser. When applications were opened, their loading times tended to be quite short and navigating most of the preinstalled apps felt snappy. While I did love all of those features, the one thing that turned me off of the distro was the crashing. It felt like you were always walking on egg shells when launching a new application or switching to an already opened one. If I had a browser and terminal opened, it was almost guaranteed that the third application that I opened would either cause one of the existing applications to crash or the DE itself to crash and boot me back to the login screen. It really made me feel like the PineTab was capable of just performing a single task at once and that switching between 1-3 different tasks was not feasible. Playing videos on Youtube or watching streams was not a good experience because it would often take about 3 minutes to fully load a page and the video playback tended to be quite laggy. This issue was slightly mitigated by adding zram to the install (highly recommend doing this) but ultimately it only provided slight improvements. Another big turn-off was that the Software application would crash if you tried to access any of the software categories which made it quite hard to find useful applications and also had issues updating the software which was not too big of a deal for me since I used apt dist-upgrade anyway. I've been tracking these two issues and the Mobian devs have been working to fix it so it might no longer be an issue by the time the next batch of PineTabs are available. 2. Manjaro KDE/Plasma Mobile I was originally turned off by Manjaro on the PineTab because the releases of it were older and in alpha stages of development. Eventually, I decided to give the development version a try and, while it was somewhat frustrating to get installed and updated, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the distro. The loading times for opening things was a little longer compared to Mobian, but I did not have a single application or DE crash while using it for over a month. The UI felt a lot more similar to existing mobile UIs like Android or iOS while also having all the great perks of KDE including a number of well developed applications as well as theme support. It also came with KDE Connect preinstalled so I was able to connect my PineTab to my PC and phone to send SMS messages and have media controls built into the PineTab's lockscreen. Again, I am biased because I love KDE and am very comfortable with it, but the experience felt a lot more similar to existing tablets/mobile devices than Mobian for me. I was also able to switch between multiple tasks quite smoothly so I was able to treat the PineTab like a mobile computer. I was also able to watch Youtube video quite well using the Anglerfish browser that comes preinstalled. Now the negatives. As I originally stated, the installation process was quite frustrating because currently the most up-to-date release of the distro is from October. Now while the release is from October, all of the packages have been kept updated using Pacman/Discover which contained tons of features and bug fixes but updating it requires you to switch to the testing repos before updating to ensure that the screen works properly. Also, several of the actual settings including display orientation and energy saving settings are hidden and require you to install systemsettings to change. Obviously these issues are expected for a distro that is in alpha, but they may be quite limiting if you are not experienced with terminal or Pacman. There is a great community of developers working on Manjaro which have provided me with help and suggestions throughout my testing and have made my experience with Manjaro great. Summary
Build quality of the PineTab is surprisingly great for the price point
A number of the issues I have with the device are software-side so will most likely be fixed
Mobian has stable update but not too stable of an experience. Active community and development.
Manjaro has less-stable updates but has a a UI much closer to existing mobile options and has better video playback. Has a great developer community.
Few recommendations
Please think about your interest in development/tinkering before purchasing this device. Pine64 really tries to drive this point on their store but I have seen a lot of posts about people's disappointment in the device not being a daily-driver. Pine64 is a community run project and having to deal with refunds/returns based off people's expectations can really hurt the project
I highly recommend getting the keyboard attachment since the build quality of it is quite nice for it's price tag and it can make terminal command much easier than with the onscreen keyboard
I also highly recommend purchasing a micro-SD card for installing new distros if you don't like the preinstalled UBPorts distro.
Thank you for reading this post and I hope I could answer some people's questions about the PineTab. I think the PineTab is an awesome device especially at its price tag and the benefits of Linux really remove some of the hardware limitations of the device. I really hope that the stock of the device is replenished in the next few weeks so that more people can enjoy the device and grow the community even more. Let me know if you have any questions about the device and I'll try my best to answer them.
Hey everyone. I've incorporated the feedback from Pixonic (August 2020, October 2020, December 2020, and January 2021). My goal is to try to get Pixonic to respond directly to this thread periodically (3-4 times a year). This will be linked to the weekly suggestions thread by the auto-moderator. Be sure to use the "Pixonic Suggestion" flair so I can easily sort through all the suggestions! Ideas & Feature Requests This thread is a place where you can discuss your ideas for the game or request features you would like to see in coming versions of the game. This sub appreciates any contributions you can make to existing ideas, but we suggest you do not post your idea before reviewing previous Pixonic ideas / suggestions threads. It is highly likely another Commander already submitted the same idea! Please be aware that posting a ruled out idea may result in your thread being removed altogether and posting an idea already suggested might result in your thread being closed with a reference back to this thread. A few tips to submitting an idea or suggestion: Title: Choose a good title - be very specific. Instead of naming your thread "suggestion", "idea", try something like "Hawks are Over Powered." This will help other users find and contribute to your thread, and drive more discussion around the topic. Point: Use clear, concise points or explanations, concept art or screenshots where applicable. General, unspecific, high-level ideas are great, but the Pixonic team can't do much without the proper information! "I think Hawks are way too powerful in the game because of their high firepower. Players running multiple Hawks make the game frustrating and boring for me." Suggestion: Give constructive and helpful suggestions that are realistic. Why will the idea work? "Decrease the Hawks firepower so it only impacts Titans and does not cut through bots' defenses. This will allow other bots to effectively counter Hawks and bring better balane to the game." For all, keep in mind Pixonic is a business. I realize many of us have little experience in owning a gaming company, but try to consider how Pixonic would make a profit or be successful in the business model when giving a suggestion. Pixonic wants players spending money AND playing a lot--so how does your suggestion support that? Threads will be removed if it includes profanity and / or insults. Comments like "make everything for free" or "XXX (i.e. Matchmaking, the game, targeting, etc.) sucks--solution: make the game better, or un-nerf everything" will just be deleted. This also isn't the place to report bugs or to rant. Given the nature of the game the developers and producers cannot always say what is coming in the next version or what is being worked on. Also, please don't expect a response to every thread or idea. The best ideas will be discussed frequently by the Community and will surface to the top in that manner (or through up/down votes). Do not spam your thread or ideas just because no one is responding!
Frequently Requested Ideas Below are ideas submitted by users for Pixonic to consider. It does not imply they are being worked on. Please do a search before starting new feature requests, especially if they are listed below. These ideas and suggestions are either acknowledged and are being worked on, or have been ruled out by the dev team for the time being. Posting these ideas may result in your thread being removed without notice. Frequently Requested:
Battle Modes
Titan skirmish (Status: in Dec 2020 Max, WR Producer stated: " We agree that it would be a lot of fun. We'll try to introduce Titan Skirmishes next year, but it won't be a priority – there's so much to do.")
Additions to custom matches (Status: in Dec 2020 Max, WR Producer stated: "The general idea of Custom Matches is not to provide an additional game mode, but to give you a playground where you can test your builds to understand if they are suitable for real combat. In Max's opinion, current functionality of Custom Matches fits just well in this concept." Detailed comments in original post)
Beacon hold time should be considered for HP (Status: in Dec 2020 Max, WR Producer stated: " We already have some ideas on how to expand the honor reward list (e.g. rewarding players for applying Suppression or Lock-down effects). The idea with beacon hold time sounds like a nice addition to our plans. ")
Pause booster timer while waiting for match (Status: in August 2020 the Pixonic producer stated they agreed with this concept and were looking into it; in Dec 2020 Max, the WR Producer stated: "We had plans for a complete rework of Boosters. Unfortunately, we had to cut those plans off to release Drones and prepare for Remastered. We believe we'll have time to work on Boosters in 2021.")
Faster reload times (Status: in Dec 2020 Max, WR Producer stated: "Thing is, there is a technical tie between reload animation and reload time. It's one of those legacy mechanics that've been haunting the game for years already. Until we refactor the entire block, it's impossible for us to change the reload speed on most of the weapons. But in general idea is good, though we see it as a Passive Module rather than a Booster.")
Allow friends in-game or via other platforms (i.e. Discord) (Status: in Dec 2020, Max WR Producer stated: " We call it "Platform Merge iteration 2" and it's on the list for 2021."; in January 2021 Max WR Producer stated: "For technical reasons, we don't want to add integrations with other platforms as far as the friends system is concerned. In fact, we'd also like to get rid if the existing integration and make all friends features completely native to the game. There will be a rework of the friends system this year. Stay tuned!"; In Jan 2021 Pix stated ability to invite friends direclty is coming soon)
Pixonic sponsored WR Tournament (Status: Oct 2020 Pix CM said it was coming; in Dec 2020 Max WR Producer stated: "We have a couple of competitive features prepared for the next year. We'll tell you more in our New Year videos."; In Jan 2021 Pix stated tournaments will be introduced into each season)
Cross-Platform (Status: In Dec 2020, Max WR Producer stated: "This is basically a cross-platform account, like PixAccount. The idea has been around for a couple of years already. It should be implemented on the scale of the whole company, not only War Robots project, of course. But yes, it's something we definitely want to have in the future.")
Incorporate lore into rewards or abilities, etc. (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "It's a great idea and it might work! *Promises to talk to the game design department about it*")
Upgrade / build multiple bots or weapons at a time (possibly benefit of having multiple hangars)
Limit number of sambe bots you cna use in active hangar
Allow us to see other players' drone hangars (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: " Yes, one day. We have some improvement plans for Drones, including UI. Hopefully, our UI team will find a way to show more info on drones in hangar.")
List maps in Alphabetical order in pull down menu (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "With only 13 maps in the game, it isn't difficult to find what you are looking for. However, if it can be done fast, we will try to squeeze it into the production plan.")
Add additional league (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR producer stated: "We are considering this idea right now, but rather a new league between Masters and Champions."; In Jan 2021 Pix stated a rework to Legendary leagues is coming soon)
Performance / Technical Features
Targeting system rework / improvement (Status: Targeting seems to be part of the base code and allows other features in the game to operate, such as stealth, meaning there are multiple dependencies. Pixonic did minor tweaks to targeting to address shooting Ao Mings in the air from the ground and vice versa, but according to Pixonic CM in Oct 2020 a major rework will not be considered until after Pixonic migrates to new servers in 2021; In Jan 2021 Pix stated improvement to targeting system will be worked with expected release in Aug 2021).
Lag (Status: According to Pixonic the 6.4 update should address lag along with server overhaul)
Choose type of crate progression (Status: In jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "The league chests need a rework, that's for sure. We have some plans for an overhaul or even an alternative feature in 2021.")
Reload button (Status: Been requested numerous times over the years. Pixonic had a reload button in a test server in ~2016 but removed it without explanation and has not indicated it will be implemented at all in the future).
Donating (or trading) any resources to (with) other players or accounts (Status: a type of resource donation system used to be in the game but it was abused by players who created multiple accounts and clan-hopped to exploit it. It does not look like any trading system will be implemented in the future).
Stats (Status: In Dec 2020 Max, WR Producer stated: "We agree that there are players who love in-depth statistics. However, War Robots is a "midcore" game and we predict that the feature will not be popular enough among our players.")
Allow training hangars to test out bots before buying them (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "It's a nice idea in general and we had it on the roadmap for 2021. However, after the final evaluation, the feature's business value/effort proportion proved to be too unfavorable to include it into the plan. You can still test out some of the new content using Hangar X.")
Allow factions to add boosts / skills / features to bots and hangars (Status: in Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "It's a very interesting concept, yet as War Robots meta is not built around the lore, it will lead to power players choosing factions that suit the current meta, while the lore factor will be neglected. So the faction power bonus is unlikely to appear in the game. However, we will work on including more lore-based features in War Robots and our other games.")
New MM formula (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "First of all, big thanks to the author of the original post. You did a great job with the calculations and data! *applause*. The concept of the Hangar Power matchmaking is great. It provides those sought after equal matches in most of the cases... on one condition — all players play fair. Right at the point when someone decides to abuse the system, it all falls apart. We struggled with it really bad before we introduced Leagues. (Yes, tankers are also a problem, but we can at least spot them and suspend or ban their accounts.). Your idea with the high-tier robots contributing more to the HPS is a good one. And still, it doesn't provide a guaranteed solution to the problem. Between Tier 1 (Destrier) and Tier 4 (Ao Jun) there is also Tier 2 and Tier 3. That's where it gets painfully difficult to balance the system so that high-level players aren't able to disintegrate mid-levels with just one bot. We had some attempts at a similar algorithm with the Design and Analytics teams in 2019. During several months of tests we couldn't come up with a solid version, that we ourselves wouldn't be able to abuse as players.")
Synchronize platform releases (Status: In Jan 2021, Max WR Producer stated: "It's not possible due to our internal releasing procedures.")
